Phishing Alert

Many U-M community members received this e-mail on 01/17/2014. This message is not from U-M. Do not respond, do not click on any link, and immediately delete it.

  • If you have already clicked on the link and entered any personal information—including your UMICH password--immediately change your password AND contact 4-HELP. An ITS Service Representative will check your account for any malicious activity that may already have been carried out by the sender of the phishing message.
  • If you have any concern that your e-mail account may be compromised, contact 4-HELP.

Subject: DEAR STAFF OF University of Michigan : YOUR URGENT ATTENTION IS NEEDED!!!

DEAR STAFF OF University of Michigan ,

All Staff Email Users are to upgrade email accounts to V5 of Microsoft Exchange(OWA) within 3 hours after getting this notification,as unused email accounts are to be deleted to minimize waste IT resources and improve security of our internal emails.

    I advise you to follow the instruction strictly as the Technical and Email support Unit will not entertain any complain from anyone who cannot access his/her Mailbox 12 hours after reading this notification for failing to comply with the above compulsory instruction.
