Browser Security Settings

Some Web pages contains hidden code that can provide a hacker with access to your computer. Make sure your security settings on Internet Explorer protect your computer from unauthorized access.

Security Settings for Internet Explorer (IE)

Follow these instructions to set your security on (IE) so they provide optimum protection while still affording adequate access to Web sites.

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Adjust the settings for the Internet, Local Intranet, Trusted Site, or Restricted Site zones. (The method for making the adjustment varies depending on the version of Internet Explorer you are using.)

Note: The Default setting is usually medium-high, which is fine for most users.
