Container Service

Service Description

The Container Service provides a high-availability, secure environment for hosting containerized applications and services. The service is geared toward technical staff who need to build and host containerized applications.

The service is available to U-M units, faculty, staff, and student groups on the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses and within Michigan Medicine.

The Container Service has been approved to host sensitive, unregulated data and applications. No regulated data types, such as PHI, FISMA, CUI or ITAR can be used within the service.

Social Security numbers should only be used where required by law or where they are essential for university business processes. If you must use or store SSNs, use institutional resources designed to house this data, such as the Data Warehouse. ITS Information Assurance (IA) can help you explore appropriate storage locations or work with you to appropriately encrypt the data if those storage options will not work for you. Contact IA via the ITS Service Center.
