Private Invitation Regarding [book title]

Date Sent

Fraudulent emails are targeting authors, including those within the U-M community, inviting them to have their book included in a curated book club. To appear legitimate, the subject line may include the title of a book authored by the recipient, and the body of the email may include a description of the work. The email may be complimentary of the author and their work. If the recipient responds, they will receive multiple follow up emails, and eventually they are asked to pay a fee.
