A day in the life of a SOC/Incident Response analyst

What’s it like to be a SOC/Incident Response analyst? Part detective, part IT professional? The Information & Technology Services Information Assurance (IA) Security Operations Center/Incident Response (SOC/IR) team will walk through a day in the life of a SOC/IR analyst. This session will provide a behind the scenes look at what happens when a potential security incident is reported including some of the investigatory steps that take place, how investigations can suddenly change, steps taken to detect/prevent future incidents, and other work performed by SOC/IR analysts to help keep the university secure.
